Dr Syed Hasnat graduated from Bangladesh’s University of Rajshahi in 1999, and has now been in family practice for nearly 20 years. Before moving to Melbourne, Dr Hasnat spent time as a general practitioner in South Australia, Western Australia, Queensland and Northern Territory. He also works in the emergency departments of various hospitals.
With a Diploma in Child Health from Adelaide’s Woman’s and Children Hospital, Dr Hasnat’s special interests cover all lifestages − from paediatrics to women’s health to aged care. Although Dr Hasnat is passionate about all aspects of general practice, he has a particular focus on joint pain and sport injuries, skin checks and skin cancer management, and sexual health including Implanon insertion and removal, Mirena removal, and family planning.
Dr Hasnat enjoys teaching in medical education, both at undergraduate and postgraduate level. He is currently furthering his own education, studying a Master of Medical Education at The University of Melbourne and a Diploma in Dermatoscopy (skin cancer).
